What are you sticking with? Is there something you decided would be different about your life this year? A new exercise plan? A new job? Going back to school?
You may have even written it on a vision board or prayed it in your heart. You were sure by now you would’ve made the changes in your life to accomplish your dreams. If you’re like me, you may have even made it a New Year’s resolution.
We tell ourselves, This year will be different, but before we realize it, we wake up and a third of the year has disappeared. Well, it’s time to shake off the discouragement and get back on track.
I’ll never forget these words a coach once told me after I took a fall while running the one-mile race for my track team– “Get up, Torres! Shake it off; we got a race to win.” To be honest, I was looking for a little more sympathy, but his firm tone—his no ifs, ands, or buts attitude was just what I needed to hear.
So much of accomplishing new things or reaching new goals is all in our mind.
Have I ever told you how many times I’ve tried to lose weight or get in shape? Really, I should own stock in the local Weight Watchers. But I’m not giving up–I’ll have that summer bathing suit body one day. No kidding!
Today, my friend is your day! It’s time to be committed. It’s time to see things through. It’s time to have a Joseph attitude and go from the pit to the palace.
It may have seemed impossible when his own brothers threw him into a pit to die. I’m sure he felt quite discouraged like all his dreams were over.
Joseph may have even asked, “Why did God even show me those dreams to begin with when now I’m in a pit waiting to die?”
You may know the story—Joseph would go through the process of coming out of the pit, and work his way up to running an entire kingdom. His next stop would be the palace.
Where will your next stop be?
It’s time to dream again! It’s time to get back on track. It’s time to commit to the dream that God gave you.
