MAKING EVERY MINUTE COUNT

My kids said, “Mom can we have an Oldies party?”
I was so excited—I love oldies music! Then it occurred to me…
What era does this generation consider Oldies to be?
When I asked, my oldest yelled out, “We a want a 90’s party! Duh!”
Am I that old?
Duh.
“Time keeps on slippin’, slippin’, slippin’, into the future…”
This year I felt convicted to become more intentional in budgeting the 168 hours I have to work with in a week.
We each get only 1440 minutes in a day. I had to ask myself, “Rosalinda, are you an active planner or a passive participant?”
I will tell you from recent experience, giving those hours the proper consideration they deserve can single-handedly—
  • Increase your Spiritual walk
  • Increase your Loving Life (Relationships with family & friends.)
  • Increase your Health
  • Increase your Wealth
The Apostle Paul said, “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” (Ephesians 5:15-17, NIV)
Look at how The Message translation words that same passage in Ephesians–

“Don’t waste your time on useless work, mere busywork, the barren pursuits of darkness. Expose these things for the sham they are.”

Are you defrauding yourself with pointless pursuits? Fooling yourself with foolishness disguised as fun?
It’s a scandal when people waste their lives on things they must hide. Rip the cover off those frauds and see how attractive they look in the light of Christ.
Wake up from your sleep, Climb out of your coffin! Christ will show you the light! So watch your step. Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get. Don’t be a party to your life falling apart.
The Apostle Paul told the quarreling, opportunity-missing church at Ephesus they needed to look at what they were spending their time on.
Ask yourself: Does this have value? Is my whining and complaining and arguing making the kind of difference that matters?
Do the activities getting most of your time match what you’d say you believe most important?
In the weeks to come, we will view our values and take an honest look at how we divvy out the never-to-be-seen-again minutes of our lives.
Get ready for INCREASE in your

It’s time to take a courageous priorities-based look at your 1440 time-budget.
