David was a Champion even before defeating Goliath. He had integrity and faithfulness performing the less-than-glamorous task of caring for his dad’s sheep. He went unrecognized behind the scenes until God put him center-stage.
But David, just like you and me, had been training for his overnight success all of his life.
The idea of overnight success is misleading. From the moment you took breath #1, you have been engaged in your individual Over Time Success Story.
Every menial task, frustrating setback, aggravating obstacle, thrilling adventure, right turn, wrong decision, and two steps forward-one step back has a purpose. Every life event can build the character and skill required for the moment you claim champion status. It does not happen overnight.
Triumph happens over time through perseverance, prayer, practice, and patience.
Do not despise small beginnings, but do not take ultimate success for granted, either. Obtaining your desires requires a serious investment of time, resources, and commitment to growth.
“For you know that you were redeemed from your empty way of life inherited from your fathers, not with perishable things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb.”

I’m sure you’ve heard the old saying, “You get what you pay for.”
The more precious the purchase, the greater the price.
God made a statement about our worth when He sacrificed His Son, Jesus, to save us from the eternal consequences of our sin. Think about that. He made a costly investment—the costliest payment-in-full to give you access to Himself and the life He created for you.
Jesus proved God’s confidence in you with the price He paid for you. You are a champion with the strength and ability to do the work necessary to see your dreams made true!
